The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works

The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works carries out the state policy for regional development and European territorial cooperation, spatial planning, road infrastructure development, administrative and territorial structure of the state, development and strengthening of the local self-government. It is responsible for the state government decentralization, development and management of the water supply and sewerage sector, activities on prevention of the damaging influence of waters within the settlements and geo-protection. It performs functions on approving general and detailed development plans, investment projects and building permits issuance. It manages and controls the overall activity regarding the cadastre, geodesy and cartography. It provides methodological guidance, coordination and control over the development, improvement, operation and use of the civil registration system and administrative service. The ministry carries out the state policy on the development of normative acts in the field of design and construction and their harmonization in line with the European Union Law. It organizes, coordinates and controls the activities of the Managing Authority of the "Regional Development" 2007 – 2013 and Regions in Growth 2014-2020 Operational Programmes as well as those of the Managing Authority of the Cross-Border Cooperation Operational Programmes at the external borders of the European Union.
