The first Advisory Board meeting of MARSPLAN BS II Project

The first Advisory Board meeting of MARSPLAN – BS II Project (Cross-border Maritime Spatial Planning for Black Sea – Bulgaria and Romania), was held at the Exhibition Center Flora, Burgas on July 9th, 2020.


Due to the security measures related to Covid-19, international experts, members of the Advisory Board, as well as the Romanian partners, attended through videoconference, and the Bulgarian partners had the opportunity to attend in person.

The meeting was organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, аs Lead partner of the project. The first Advisory Board was attended by representatives of Bulgarian partners: National Center for Regional Development, Center for Coastal and Marine Studies, Varna and Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, Varna.

The Romanian partners that took part in the meeting were: the Ministry of Public Works, Development and Administration of Romania, the National Institute for Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa", Ovidius University of Constanţa and the National Institute for Research and Development on Marine Geology and Geo-ecology (GeoEcoMar). Leading experts on maritime spatial planning from Italy and Poland, representatives of Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia, Black Sea Commission against pollution, BSEC, EEA and IOC UNESCO are members of the Advisory Board.

The discussions were oriented towards the stage of development of the project, the sea - land interaction as a component of maritime spatial planning, as well as the Multi - Use in the Black Sea.

The experts exchanged opinions and experience for the successful future development of the activities set out in the project.
